Vacation Rental Description
Twin Beaver Lodge is a cozy cottage neslted by Roses Brook in the Catskill Mountains about 3 hours from NYC. The 11 acre property is a wildlife refuge offering sanctuary not only to the bavers but abundant other wildlife. The simple, fully-furnished guesthouse sleeps 6 with one queen bedroom downtairs, 2 twin trundle bed that convert to a king bed in the attic observation room, and a queen sleeper sofa in the living room. Newly refurbished with a stainless steel kitchen and vintage bath with marble floors TBL also features a wrap-around sundeck and coverd porch. Nature and birdwatching from the attic windows provide panoramic views of the wetlands, beaverpond, stream and pond. Watch the deer and wild turkey amble down the pasture trails to the stream. See the Great Blue Heron stalking the beaver pond. A 5 minute walk the the small Relay lane ends in the 1400 acre Plattekill State Forest trailhead for hiking and skiing. 15 minutes drive to Ski/Bike Plattekill Mountain, or 30 minutes to Bellayre/Hunter/Windham ski resorts. Just next door is Broken Spoke Stables where trail rides and lessons can be arranged. Up the road is the beloved Bibliobarn bookstore in a barn. Historic Woodchuck Lodge writing retreat of John Burroughs is just over the mountain and the 20 mile rail-to-trails bike/hike patch is just 5 minutes away.
